Professor Karl Wohlmuth heads the Economics Forum on “Management of Change. Learning from structural, economic and institutional changes in Africa”. Professors, Lecturers and Students with experience in Africa and with contacts to African universities will report on opportunities, chances and possibilities to study and to research in Africa. Activities of the Research Group on African Development Perspectives Bremen

The Research Group on African Development Perspectives Bremen has finalized the international research project "New Growth and Poverty Alleviation Strategies for Africa". Two volumes of the African Development Perspectives Yearbook are now published on this theme, and the books can be ordered by LIT Publishers (see the contents of Volume13... and of Volume14(Neu)..., and how to order the new books LIT-Verlag).

The Research Group is starting a new research project for the years 2009-2011 with the title "Overcoming Premature Deindustrialization Trends in Africa – Towards A New Industrial Policy for Africa". "CAPACITY BUILDING INITIATIVE IN POLITICAL ECONOMY ANALYSIS", Workshop in Accra, Ghana

Attendance at Workshops by Dr. Reuben Adeolu ALABI: Dr. Reuben Adeolu Alabi, a Post Doctoral Research Fellow (financed by the Humboldt Foundation) at the Institute of World Economics and International Management (IWIM), University of Bremen, has been selected on a highly competitive basis as one of four Scholars to be invited to attend the Workshop on: ‘CAPACITY BUILDING INITIATIVE IN POLITICAL ECONOMY ANALYSIS’.
